Felipe Has a New Cousin!

Emmett Matthew Zak was born at 2:26 am on July 16th, weighing 8 lbs and 5 oz and 21.25 inches long. Kevin says he looks a lot like him (and so did the nurses). Everyone is doing fine but with a little less sleep under their belts. A few weeks ago Aria said, "I can't wait until baby brother gets here!" Aria will get to meet Emmett this afternoon after school (Hospital visitation rules have changed greatly!), so there'll be some family pictures posted to Felipe's blog. Congratulations to the happy family!

Felipe's Latest Accomplishment

No, Felipe is not actually reading but his latest new fun thing to do is to sit on his potty seat and read a book. His next fun thing to do is to flush the toilet after he has had a success......or whenever he happens to walk by the bathroom. This is definitely a teachable moment time!

A Jimmy Buffet Fan or Just a Cheeseburger in Paradise???

Felipe had his first hamburger with onion and enjoyed it tremendously. However, as 1 year olds do, he had to poke his finger into it before consuming the entire hamburger! That must be a true test of it's being "consumption worthy". I don't think that would have made it as a Seinfeld episode.....

Felipe's and Sophie's Band

Felipe and Sophie enjoy play days together but this one turned out to be a concert. When they really perfect their gig, they'll be selling tickets to the general public. Hope to see you there!!

When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going!

Felipe is now walking full steam ahead. Some of his favorite places are mommy's and daddy's bedroom and, of course, the bathroom where he loves to flush the toilet----in preparation for potty training---naturally. Actually, Maria and David practice with him after he has a diaper BM by having Felipe flush it down the toilet. This way, when the time is right---sometime next year---Felipe won't be afraid of the toilet. Good concept......
